CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu

CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu ( Clubul Sportiv " Pandurii - Lignitul " Târgu Jiu ) is a Romanian football club from Târgu Jiu. He plays since 2005 in Liga 1, the first Romanian football league.

History

The Romanian Erstligaclub Pandurii Târgu Jiu was founded in 1963 and owes its name to the Pandurs. Despite its 45 - year existence, the club was the first time in the 2004/05 season under coach Emil Săndoi as the leader of the Divizia B qualify for the Football House of Lords. After the club was started with four defeats in the 2005/ 06 season, Săndoi end of August 2005 was dismissed and replaced by Viorel Hizo. Also Nicolae Ungureanu, Hizos successor from April 2006, the sporting situation could not improve significantly. Pandurii finished the season in second to last place in the table, was allowed for the withdrawal of licenses of Sportul Studenţesc but remain within the League 1. New coach was on June 10, 2006 Eugen Neagoe, came with the 2006/07 league and stayed with Pandurii until his termination on December 9, 2007. After a league game under interim coach Gabriel Zahiu the Tabellenvorletzte was on 27 December 2007 the conclusion of a contract for two and a half years with the Portuguese Joaquim Teixeira known. After two defeats at the start of the second half and leaving in the Cupa României 2007/ 08 Teixeira was already dismissed on 3 March 2008 and Eugen Neagoe brought back as a coach. With Neagoe again managed to avoid relegation, but he was fired after a poor start to the 2008/ 09 season in September 2008 and replaced by Sorin Cârţu. After placement in the middle of the final table Cârţu was replaced in October 2009 by Liviu Ciobotariu. In March 2010 Cârţu triggered again even Ciobotariu from, however, was on 12 May 2010, with two games left in the season, dismissed. The former assistant coach Florin Bejinariu managed the team in the last two games of the season.

After completion of the 2009/10 season Pandurii was descended again sporty and undertook in June 2010 with Marius Baciu a new coach. Mid-July 2010, however, the sponsor of the higher-ranked Curtea de Arges iNTernational withdrew, so Pandurii could benefit from it and also took with Ionut Badea previous coach and nine other players from International under contract. On 1 October 2010 Badea was discharged at the bottom club, and two days later replaced by Petre Grigoraş. Since November 2010, the club denies its home games in Drobeta Turnu Severin, after the stadium Tudor Vladimirescu was closed for renovations.
