The Club Sportiv Progym Gheorgheni (Hungarian: Progym Harghita Gyöngye ) is a Romanian ice hockey team from Gheorgheni, which was founded in 1949 and plays in the Romanian Hockey League. In addition, the club participated in the 2008 /09 season at the Hungarian- Romanian MOL League.

History

The Hockey Department of Gyergyószentmiklósi Korcsolya Egylet ( Eislaufverein Gheorgheni ) was founded in 1949 and played in the season 1956/57, the first time in the Romanian Hockey League, the top division of the country. Due to the change of patronage operation, the name of the association changed quite frequently. In the 1960s, the team took most of the game operation of the second division, Division II, in part. 1980 reached the Vein under the name Avantul Gheorgheni promotion to the first division, from which they descended again in 1982. Two years later, managed to rise again.

In 1991 the club moved next to three other teams back on the game operation. 1994 CS Progym Gheorgheni was founded in its present form with three sections. The Hockey Division reached after resumption of gaming operations again in 1995, the top division.

2008, the club was admitted, along with CSA Steaua Bucharest, another Romanian team in the new MOL League, on the one but only one season took part next to the game operation of the Romanian Hockey League.

The home games of the CS Progym Gheorgheni will be held in the Mujegpalya Arena in Gheorgheni.
