Ctrl Alt Del (webcomic)

Ctrl Alt Del ( CAD) is a webcomic by Tim Buckley. He first appeared in October 2002. Its name stems from the particularly Windows users well-known key combination Ctrl Alt Del. The comic deals with the typical " gamer stereotype " based on a WG, which is inhabited by four young people. At present, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, a new episode will appear.

Action

The two gamers Ethan MacManus and Lucas Davidowicz relate together a new apartment. Scott moves in with Ethan and Lucas due to a previous ad of flat-dwellers. Ethan tries only to get rid of Scott, but Lucas makes it clear to him that this was not useful, because Scott could pay as opposed to ethane his share of the rent. With Scott also comes his pet Ted, a penguin, with the WG. Neither Scott nor Ted is Ethan done. Scott did not like it because it uses Linux, and Ted, because he is a penguin. Then Lilah moved into the house. Lucas immediately befriends with her. Ethan can not believe that there is a girl that plays video games and beyond even looks good. After Ethan has played a video game ( Soul Calibur ) with Lilah, he falls immediately into it.

Shortly thereafter, the heater fails, and Ethan upset about the cold. To wrest the winter cold something beautiful, he invents quickly produce a new festival: "Winter - Een - Mas ". However, it increases fanatical in this festival in and treated his friends as subjects. The festival is repeated every year and become an integral part of the comics.

The other episodes describe in short episodes the daily routine of four whose activities mainly relate to computer games. You buy new hardware, take part in tournaments and have also happen to be master normal life.

Winter - Een - Mas

Winter - Een - Mas is a festival in honor of video games. Ethan is the founder of this feast, he is the king of winter - Een - Mas. Lucas and later Ethan ( inspired by the chain swords) play Warhammer 40k; in the episodes is also discussed common stereotypes of these Games. Printed publications

The first volume of CAD books Ctrl Alt Del Volume One: Insert Coin was released in 2004 and contains the first 150 episodes, as well as related comments of the author and bonus material. Among the bonus material are not published, among others, as a webcomic episodes and the first sketches for the characters.

The second volume Ctrl Alt Del Volume Two: Press Start was published in 2005 and contains a further 150 episodes, comments on each comic and bonus features such as tips on creating your own webcomics.

Ctrl Alt Del Volume Three: Critical System Failure was published on 7 February 2007 and then to offer with softcover also available as a limited edition hardcover. Extras in this volume includes the story of how Scott and Ted met, and a few exclusive sketches and comics.

Ctrl Alt Del: The Animated Series

2005, the planning of an animated series based on the CAD comics, announced. The series is produced by Blind Ferret Entertainment and distributed through the fee-based service CAD Premium. The series includes episodes that are not published as a webcomic. The episodes appear at the beginning of each month and each have a duration of about 5 minutes.
