Cuauhxicalli

A Cuauhxicalli or quauhxicalli (translated: Adler gourd bowl ) is an altar that was used by the Aztecs for sacrificial ceremonies. Cuauhxicallis are often designed as an eagle or jaguar or as a round stone, which is decorated with motifs. On the top they always have a round depression.
