Cuba national basketball team

The Cuban national basketball team of men representing Cuba in international basketball games. It belonged in the 1970s to the best national teams in the FIBA World Association and won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972. Two years later they finished fourth at the World Championships in 1974 in Puerto Rico, the only previously staged in the Caribbean World Cup. Since the 2000s it fell in contrast to the Cuban women's choice behind the regional rival Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and U.S. Virgin Islands back and was able to since 1999, only once qualified for a continental finals of America Basketball Championships.
