Cubitus

Cubitus is a comic book series by the Belgian cartoonist Dupa ( Luc Dupanloup; 1945-2000 ). The name derives from the main character, a fat, wuscheliger, white dog, whose outstanding features are intelligence and laziness. The name is derived from a bone: The Elle was formerly known anatomically cubitus from the Greek " kybiton " (elbow).

Between 1968 and 2000, numerous stories have been published. Then there was the death of the signer Dupa a longer break. Since 2005, cubitus is drawn by Michel Rodrigue. The comics are mainly known in the French- speaking world. Between 1972 and 2002, 39 comic books published in Belgium. In Brussels, cubitus was honored as one of many comic book heroes with a wall painting: In the pose of the Manneken Pis he can be admired in the Rue de Flandre. 2002 was built in his honor and Dupas a statue in Limal (Wallonia). There Dupa had lived the last 30 years.

Publishers

The original volumes 7-21 were published in German by Carlsen Verlag, but then discontinued due to low sales figures. The Phoenix Publishing has released a tape, then the series was taken over by the publisher Editions cult. It remained at the 2005 announcement of a new band. It was only in 2008 brought out in Piredda publisher, which continues the series from then has reissued ( "Red Series") and also the original volumes 1 to 6 under the name cubitus Classic ( " blue series ").

Animated series

1988, the comic was translated into a Japanese- Belgian-Dutch co-production as an animated ( anime). The series consists of 52 double episodes. Executive director was Hiroshi Sasagawa.
