Culteranismo

As Gongorism a lyrical style of the Baroque period is referred to in the strict sense.

It is named after Luis de Góngora (1561-1627), who was influential for the Spanish Baroque literature. The works Gongora and his successors are characterized by an exuberant and often verging on nonsense word fluency.

In a broader sense too screwed - mannered prose or poetry is called gongoristisch in the literature. Example, it was asserted, William Faulkner's novels are in the style of a " Dixie Gongorism ".
