Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Cumberland Presbyterian Church is a Christian denomination in the United States. The church belongs to the Reformed churches of Protestantism, whose origin lies in the reformer John Calvin.

Church History

1810, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of the Presbyterian Church ( USA) had detached, due to disputes over the formation and Pastor deficiency. The pastors Samuel McAdow, Finis Ewing and Samuel King reorganized the Cumberland Presbyterians. 1813, the first Cumberland Synod took place and in 1829 the General Assembly of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church was built. 1899, the first women's ordination took place: Louisa Mariah Layman Woosley. 1906 were part of the church over to the Presbyterian Church.
