Cumerio

Cumerio was one of the main editors of copper in Europe and operates smelters and Affine Listeria in Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy and Switzerland. There are several semi- manufactured products, such as copper wire and sheets, Billets.

The company belongs to Aurubis AG.

Cumerio was formed in 2005 when the parent company Umicore has spun off its copper activities. The name is an anagram of Cumerio Umicore.

End of 2006 1450 people were employed in Cumerio and sales reached 3.4 billion euros.

Takeover

Cumerio came into the international headlines, wanted to acquire as mid-2007, both the North German Affinerie as well as the A- TEC Industries Cumerio. The North German Affinerie has taken over 91% of Cumerio until February 18, 2008. On 15 April 2008 the complete takeover of Cumerio was carried out by a squeeze-out.

On 26 February 2009, the Annual General Meeting of Norddeutsche Affinerie AG has decided to rename the company to Aurubis AG.
