Cuming County, Nebraska
The Cuming County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is West Point, which was named after its location in the Elkhorn River Valley.

The County is located in Eastern Nebraska, is about 40 km away from Iowa and has an area of 1488 square kilometers, of which 7 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered by the following counties:
History
The Cuming County was formed in 1855 from part of the Burt County. It was named after Thomas B. Cuming (1827-1858), the twice governor of Nebraska - territory was (1854-1855, 1857-1858 ).

According to the census in 2000 lived in Cuming County 10,203 people in 3,945 households and 2,757 families. The population density was 7 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 95.88 percent White, 0.13 percent African American, 0.28 percent Native American, 0.20 percent Asian, 0.03 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 2.63 percent from other races groups; 0.85 percent were descended from two or more races. 5.48 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race, were members of the various groups mentioned.
Of the 3,945 households out of which 32.6 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 61.7 percent were married couples living together, 5.3 percent were single mothers, 30.1 percent were non-families, 27.1 percent of all households and 14.9 percent lived in people aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size is 3.08 people.
Based on the county the population was spread from 27.2 percent population under 18 years, 6.5 percent between 18 and 24 years, 25.2 percent between 25 and 44 years, 20.9 percent between 45 and 64 years and 20.2 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 102.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.2 men statistically.
The median income for a household was $ 33,186, and the median income for a family was $ 38,369. Males had a median income of $ 26,577, women $ 19,246. The per capita income was $ 16,443. 7.0 percent of families and 9.0 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. Of these, 9.8 percent were children or adolescents under age 18 and 7.8 percent of those 65 years.
