Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens

The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens is an art museum in Jacksonville, Florida in the United States.

History

The museum was set up in 1961 on the property, used to be the residence of the married couple Arthur and Norah on the Cummer. The museum site covers next to the Museum buildings three flower gardens. The oldest of these gardens was created in 1903 and opened a view of the St. Johns River. He is registered since 2010 in the National Register of Historic Places. 2002, the Museum the adjacent former Woman's Club of Jacksonville, whose building is a replica Tudor-style and serves as an extension of the museum.

Collections

The museum's collections include more than 6,000 works from the period of 2100 BC to the 21st century.
