Cupa României

The Romanian Football Cup Cupa României is discharged since 1934 national cup competition for club teams in Romania. The competition is organized annually by the Federatia Română de Fotbal (FRF) and is named after the League 1 the second most important national title in club football. The current official name of the competition was " Cupa României Timisoreana ".

Current title holder (2013 ) is Petrolul Ploieşti.

Sponsors

On July 22, 2005 Samsung Electronics signed a one year contract. The Cup was changed during the contract period in " Cupa României Samsung".

On October 9, 2006 Ursus signed a three -year contract. The Cup was changed during the contract period in " Cupa României Timisoreana " to make the new brand of Ursus known.

The record cup winners is Steaua Bucharest with 22 Cup victories, followed by Rapid Bucharest and Dinamo Bucharest with 13 titles.

The city of Bucharest with their clubs dominated the Cup competition. At about two-thirds of the previous 74 sweeps of the winners came from the capital.
