Curchy

Curchy is a northern French village with 315 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, in the canton of Roye and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays Neslois.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 7 km southeast of Chaulnes at the department road D337. Dreslincourt is located approximately 2.5 km north-east of Curchy beyond the railway line Amiens Laon, Manicourt about a kilometer southeast of Curchy. Through the municipal area of ​​the small river Unitingon which opens at Rouy -le- Petit in the Canal du Nord runs.

History

In 1966, the municipalities Curchy and Dreslincourt merged to form the new municipality Curchy - Dreslincourt. Another merger took place in 1973 with the community Manicourt, since then called the church Curchy.

Curchy received as an award, the Croix de guerre 1914-1918.
