Curl (programming language)

Curl is a multi- paradigm programming language that was designed to be able to write better Internet applications. It incorporated elements of markup language, scripting and object-oriented language.

Curl has been developed since 1995. The first public version was released in 2000. Meanwhile Curl is available in version 11.0 before and will be further developed by the employees of the company Curl, Inc.. Curl, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese company Sumisho Computer Systems.

The strengths are seen mainly in the field of data-intensive enterprise applications.

Curl applications usually include the group of Rich Internet Applications. Applications that are loaded directly from the Internet or installed locally, are executed in the same secure sandbox. They can be performed online or offline.

It is a plug-in ( Curl Surge RTE ) is required, which is provided on the manufacturer's website for download. The company also provides a curl Editor ( Curl Surge Lab IDE) for programming available, which includes comprehensive documentation in English.

Curl is not to be confused with the cURL, a download manager.
