Curling at the Winter Olympics

Curling was first staged at the Olympic Winter Games in 1924 in I. Chamonix. However, this contest was long regarded as a demonstration or Vorführwettbewerb, although at the time of the First Olympic Winter Games, no differentiation was made in demonstration and primary contests. In February 2006, the IOC decided that curling in 1924 an official competition was and Great Britain declared an Olympic champion. At the Winter Games in 1932 and after a long break at the Winter Games of 1988 and 1992 Curling was further held only as a demonstration event.

Since the Winter Olympics 1998 Curling is one for men and women officially on the program of the Olympic Winter Games.

The curling like the curling was also held at the Winter Games of 1936 and 1964 as a demonstration event, but does not count as a demonstration competition for curling.
