Current-feedback operational amplifier

The current feedback operational amplifier, also referred to as a trans-impedance operational amplifier, is a component of the electronics. It has an inverting (-) and a non-inverting input ( ) and an output on which a current to the inverting input a voltage proportional appears.

This type of operational amplifier is not the same as the circuit of the transimpedance amplifier which is comprised of a corresponding voltage- feedback operational amplifier and serves to convert an input current into a proportional output voltage.

Compared with the voltage- feedback op-amp of the current feedback op-amp gain does not lose, especially at high frequencies. It is therefore used for example for video amplifier. For this, the input currents are higher by several orders of magnitude, at higher frequencies perspective partly because of the input capacitances.
