SCC

The Cursinu is not recognized by the FCI breed of Corsica, France. The French federation SCC leads the breed in Group 5, Section 7

Origin and History

The Cursinu probably goes back to the ancient Saupacker that were used for hunting and as a watch and guard dog. Islands such as Corsica were often plagued by pirates, so you need strong dogs for defense. It was originally used for cattle driving and herding. Today, however, it is more likely used for hunting. 2003 the breed was recognized in France by the Société Centrale Canine.

Description

The Cursinu has a lightweight but robust-looking, medium build ( up to 55 cm in size). His coat is smooth and short to medium haired and usually brown tabby. The chest is sometimes white or white - spotted, but this is viewed as a flaw.

Nature

This dog is very territorial oriented, suspicious of strangers and acts more insecure in a strange environment. He defends the property of his master very violently. Strange dogs over he is rude and intolerant. The Cursinu is intelligent, quiet in the house, but outdoors he developed a lively temperament. He needs his territory or the job of hunting - without proper task he is an uncomfortable companion. As a family dog, the Cursinu is rather inappropriate.

Use

Herding and hunting dog.
