Curt Kirkwood

Curt Kirkwood ( born January 10, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas) is an American songwriter, singer and guitarist. He was the frontman and founding member of the alternative rock band "Meat Puppets", which was also internationally known for the MTV Unplugged concert with Nirvana in 1993.

Kirkwood grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. After playing in several mainstream bands, he called in 1980 with his brother Cris on bass and drummer Derrick Bostrom the Meat Puppets to life. The trio brought out eleven albums. In 1996, she broke up, but Curt revived the Meat Puppets with Kyle Ellison ( g ), Andrew Duplantis ( b ) and Shandon Sahm (dr ) again to record another studio album by 2000 ( Golden Lies). He then toured alone for a while before the drummer of " Sublime " Bud Gaugh formed the band " Eyes Adrift " Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic along with. They brought in 2002 a self-titled album out and toured in the U.S., before they broke up. Curt then formed another band, "Volcano ", again released an album and then got out. His solo album Snow was released in October 2005. In 2006, Cris and Curt came together again to bring with Tim Alexander ( Primus previously ) the Meat Puppets back on stage. 2011 appeared their previous studio album Lollipop.

Curt lives in Austin, Texas.
