Curt Weldon

Wayne Curtis " Curt " Weldon ( born July 22, 1947 in Marcus Hook, Delaware County, Pennsylvania) is an American politician.

Weldon attended West Chester State College, West Chester, and received his Bachelor of Arts in 1969. He then worked as a teacher and worked at the volunteer fire department. From 1977 to 1982 Weldon held the office of mayor of Marcus Hook; 1981-1986 he was a member of the county council of the Delaware County. After an unsuccessful attempt in 1984 Weldon was in 1986 elected as a Republican to Congress and represented the state of Pennsylvania there from 3 January 1987 to 3 January 2007 in the U.S. House of Representatives. In the 2006 elections, he could not defend his position: He lost the election to Democrat Joe Sestak.

In 2003, he was in Pyongyang to convey the nuclear dispute with North Korea. On April 6, 2011, he traveled to Tripoli to reach a ceasefire in the Libyan civil war.
