Curtis Davies ( 2007)
Curtis Eugene Davies ( born March 15, 1985 in Leytonstone, London) is an English footballer. The defender stands since 2013 in Hull City under contract.
Club career
Early career
Davies played 15 -year-old in the youth of the FC Wimbledon, but was there dismissed a year later. In Luton Town he subsequently received a scholarship in 2003 and gave his debut in the first team of the club.
2004/ 05 he was at Luton Town as one of the key players. He graduated in 44 league matches this season and helped the club to the league title in the Football League One. Davies was honored for his achievements as a " League One Player of the Year" and voted together with five teammates in the "PFA League One team of season ".
The following season, Davies graduated six league appearances for Luton. In his last game in the dress of the Hatters on 29 August 2005 he scored the 2-1 victory against FC Millwall. Two days later he was transferred for a fee of three million pounds to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.
West Bromwich Albion
Davies was the most expensive purchase to date of a defender for Bromwich. Despite a strong season and 33 league inserts in a row, he could not prevent the descent of the Baggies yet signed end of July 2006 a new four -year contract with West Brom. After he had been during the Erstligaspielzeit partially captain, he took office in the final 2006/07 season, making him the second-youngest captain in the club's history.
On February 17, he cashed his first red card in his pro career after each saw the yellow card for two fouls on Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka. A month later he broke against Crystal Palace the fifth metatarsal. Thus it fell out to the end of the season and also missed the U-21 match between England and Italy, which was the first game after the completion of Wembley Stadium held there. This season, he was elected to the "PFA Championship Team of the Year". Without Davies West Brom defeated in the decisive play-off game for promotion against Derby County 0-1.
On 21 June 2007 Davies handed first time a transfer request, but this was rejected by the club management. On 31 August it was announced that Davies will be loaned for one season to the first division club Aston Villa, with the option of a permanent obligation for the season 2008/09.
Aston Villa
Davies made his debut for the first team of Aston Villa in the 0-1 defeat in the League Cup against Leicester City. He compared his performance here in an interview with a "pub team player".
The end of December could win a regular place in the team of the Villa defender after Zat Knight was locked because of a sending off against Chelsea for a few weeks. On 1 March 2008 he retired in the match against Arsenal a torn Achilles tendon and is likely to fall from to for six months. Despite these heavy injury Davies received end of the season a four-year contract.
From October to December 2010, Davies was loaned to Leicester City where he was employed 12 times.
Birmingham City
On 28 January 2011 Aston Villa was announced that Davies goes directly from Leicester City to Birmingham City, where he signed a contract for the next three and a half years until 30 June 2014.
National team career
Davies made his debut in the English Under-21 national team on 28 February against the U21 Norway.
From England coach Fabio Capello he was appointed in January 2008 in the provisional national squads of England. But to use one, he did not so far.
