Curtis Glencross

Curtis Glencross ( born December 28, 1982 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2008 with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Curtis Glencross began his career as a hockey player 2002 for the ice hockey team of the University of Alaska Anchorage in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. After two years he was engaged as a free agent by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on March 25, 2004. However, in his three seasons with Anaheim, he came only to two appearances in the National Hockey League in the 2006/07 season, where he scored one goal. On 26 January 2007, the Canadian was given together with Zenon Konopka in exchange for Mark Hartigan and Joe Motzko to the Columbus Blue Jackets. By the end of the season Glencross played seven times for the Blue Jackets and in 29 games for their AHL farm team Syracuse Crunch. In the 2007 /08 season Glencross played exclusively for the NHL team the Blue Jackets and came in 36 games. On 1 February 2008 he was given in exchange for Dick Tärnström to the Edmonton Oilers, for which he further 26 NHL games played until the end of the season. On 2 July 2008 Glencross finally signed a contract as a free agent with the Calgary Flames.

While the Oilers Skill Competition in the season 2007 /08 Glencross managed an unofficial NHL record by circling the ice of Rexall Place in 13.370 seconds.
