Curtis Sittenfeld

Elizabeth Curtis Sittenfeld ( born 1975 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American writer and author of three novels.

Life

Curtis Sittenfeld was born in Cincinnati, the daughter of Elizabeth and Paul G. Sittenfeld. She attended private school in Groton Groton ( Massachusetts), the Seven Hills Elementary School in Cincinnati and from the eighth grade. After that, she studied first at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie and then at Stanford University in Stanford ( California).

After studying Curtis Sittenfeld moved to Charlotte ( North Carolina), where she wrote for the Charlotte Observer. Then she worked for the magazine Fast Comany in Boston and attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa in part. Your articles have appeared among others in the following magazines and newspapers: The New York Times, The Washington Post and People.

In 2005, Curtis Sittenfeld published her debut novel Prep ( German Title: A class of its own ). The novel tells the experiences of student Lee Fiora at the fictional elite school Ault. The New York Times chose to prep the ten best books of 2005. Published in 2008, in her novel The wife of the president Curtis Sittenfeld paints a fictional portrait of the former First Lady Laura Bush.

Customs field books have been translated into twenty-five languages.
