Cushamen Department

The department Cushamen is in the northwest of the province of Chubut in southern Argentina and is one of 15 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the province of Río Negro, on the east by the department of Gastre, to the south by the departments Languiñeo and Futaleufu and to the west by Chile.

The capital of the department Cushamen is the same Cushamen.

In the language of tehuelche the place name means loneliness.
