The Committee on Uniform Security Identification Procedures ( CUSIP ) is similar to the German Securities Identification Number (WKN) an identification system for securities and a so-called National Securities Identifying Number. CUSIPs are nine-digit alphanumeric identification codes that are used in North America. The system belongs to the American Bankers Association ( ABA) and is operated by Standard & Poor's.

CUSIP Avox Business Reference Entity identifier ( CABRE )

In spring 2009, Avox ( a subsidiary of the German group exchange) and CUSIP Global Services announced a collaboration to introduce a new universal enterprise identifier system with the name " CABRE " ( CUSIP Avox Business Reference Entity identifier) ​​. This should be done in the future world for issuers, borrowers and counterparties and used. The CABRE identifier will therefore be a code with 10 characters, standing by the existing customers of Avox and S & P / CUSIP addition to the existing services.
