Custom house

The term refers to a Customs House building in which ( historically ) the tax or customs administration was housed.

As with customs formalities, a certain residence was connected at the site, can be found at customs houses early catering establishments. A large number of restaurants and hotels, therefore, bears the name of the Customs House.

Customs houses were sometimes set up as a toll points on highways to finance, such as the Old Customs House Wennigsen on the road between Hanover and Hameln Hameln.
