Ćwiercie

Blackness, Polish Ćwiercie, is a town in Upper Silesia. Blackness is located in the municipality rolls ( Walce ) in the powiat Krapkowicki in Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Blackness is located four kilometers northwest of the municipality seat rollers, nine kilometers south of the county town Krapkowice ( Krappitz ) and 31 kilometers south of the voivodship Opole.

History

Blackness was first documented in 1568, when it was owned by Count Hans von Rederns.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 76 voters to remain in Germany and three in Poland .. blackness remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 136 inhabitants in the village. 1939, the place had 119 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Ćwiercie and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Krapkowicki. On April 4, 2006, in the municipality of rollers, the blackness belongs introduced German as a second official language, and on 3 June 2009 was the place in addition to the official German names blackness.
