Cyatholipidae

Tekelloides flavonotatus

The Cyatholipidae are a family of arachnids in the order of the spiders ( Araneae).

There are 23 genera with 58 species distinguished, which are common in central and southern Africa, Madagascar, Australia and New Zealand. In Jamaica, there is not a way. They were discovered in the late 19th century in Africa.

The endemic Malagasy representatives of Cyatholipidae usually live in humid montane forests in ascending order of the tropics from sea level to 600 m above 2000 m. Keep yourself in 20 cm to 2 m height hanging next to their blankets networks on which they weave between plants. Certain species, however, as Scharffia rossi, also live in dry regions such as savannas.

Fossil are some species of this spider family ( New Genera Spinilipus with a kind and Succinilipus with 3 types) from Baltic amber ( Eocene ) and the same- Bitterfeld amber known.
