In the next step, the relationships between these objects are specified exactly, for example " a car has four wheels ". However, the content of Cyc are tailored only to the English language and the American culture.

Since 1995 Cyc of Cycorp, Inc. issued. OpenCyc is the open source version of Cyc. Content is available under the Apache License, however, the inference function unit is not 100 % open source. For scientific purposes, a variant called ResearchCyc is issued.
