Cyclone (Dreamworld)

Cyclone in Dreamworld ( Coomera, Queensland, Australia) is a steel roller coaster from Custom Looping Coaster model of the manufacturer Arrow Dynamics, opened on 26 December 2001. It was originally opened in 1995 at Luna Park ( Sydney ) as the Big Dipper, but was closed due to noise disturbance of local residents already on 27 January 2001. Parts of the track are located in close proximity to the water attractions the White Water World. At the time of its opening it was considered the first Megacoaster on the Gold Coast since 1995.

Construction

Cyclone was built in 1994 at a cost of 8 million Australian dollars, with 1,000 tons of steel and 15,000 screws and bolts were used. Dreamworld paid for rail $ 5.5 million, with $ 3 million has been spent on the train itself, and $ 2.5 million for the installation, modification and development of the theming of the web. The majority of the changes took place on the supports. In Sydney, the railway was built partly over a one-story building, so that the supports for Dreamworld had to be adapted to the new floor. There were 136 trucks needed to transport the 900 m long route from Sydney to Coomera.

Rail layout

The 40 m high and 900 m long railway has two inversions: a Reverse Sidewinder and a loop with both inversions in the Whitewater World are. The single train, which consists of six cars, holds 24 people ( four people (two rows of two people) per car ) and reaches a top speed of 85 km / h
