Biography

Cyd Charisses parents were Lela (née Norwood ) and Ernest Enos Finklea, Sr.

Cyd Charisse was in Los Angeles a ballet training with Adolph Bolm and Bronislava Nijinska and entered into the sequence with the Ballets Russes on under the pseudonym Siderova. The Second World War meant the end for this ballet troupe. Charisse went out back to Los Angeles, where her David Lichine offered a role in Gregory Ratoffs piece Something to Shout About.
