Cynar

Cynar ( German pronunciation: " Tschinar " ) is an Italian liqueur ( Amaro ) from artichoke (Cynara scolymus ) and herbs from reddish - brown color. It has a slightly bitter, tart - sweet taste. The alcohol content is 16.5 % vol.

" Cynar amaro leggermente " ( Italian for " slightly bitter Cynar " ) is due to its content of artichokes ingredients ( cynarin ) as a digestive aid and is therefore good as a digestif. It can be either pure or as a long drink, be drunk with classic soda or cola, tonic water or bitter lemon. A lemon or orange in the glass column is used for flavor and decoration.

Cynar is produced by the Campari Group.
