Kynortas or Kynortes (Greek Κυνόρτας or Κυνόρτης; Latin Cynortes ), the son of Amyklas and Diomede, in Greek mythology, a king of Sparta and brother of hyacinth.
He was the father of Perieres. From Pausanias, he is also referred to as the father of Oebalus. After the death of his brother Argalos he was ruler of Sparta. He was succeeded by his son Perieres.
