Cynthia Carroll

Cynthia Carroll ( b. 1957 ) is an American manager. She has been Chief Executive Officer 2007 of the South African mining group Anglo American. Previously, she worked for the Aluminiumverhütter Alcan. In the list of 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes magazine she is out in 2010 in 14th place. Cynthia Carroll is the first woman and the first non- South African, who took over the management of the Anglo American Group.

She studied geology at the University of Kansas and Business Administration at Harvard University. Both programs she graduated with a master.
