Cynthia Lennon

Cynthia Powell Lennon, ( born September 10, 1939 in Blackpool, England) is the first wife of musician John Lennon.

Life

Cynthia Powell grew up in Hoylake, a small town near Liverpool, on. At 18, she attended the Liverpool College of Art, where she met John Lennon. In 1962, she became pregnant, and they decided to marry and John Lennon. The marriage took place on 23 August 1962 at the Mount Pleasant Register Office in Liverpool instead. The marriage was long kept secret because Beatles manager Brian Epstein was afraid many female Beatle fans would that disclosure lose interest in Lennon. Cynthia and John Lennon's son John Charles Julian was born on 8 April 1963 in Sefton General Hospital in Liverpool. The press in 1964 found the secret to their marriage out, but Epstein's fears did not materialize; There was no negative effect on the popularity of the group.

1968 Cynthia Lennon sued her husband for adultery with the Japanese artist Yoko Ono. Initially planned John Lennon, also to sue his wife for adultery and denying his own guilt at the breakdown of the marriage. John Lennon's claim to have not committed adultery, but it turned into a hoax, as Yoko Ono was with child by him. In November, the divorce became final and Cynthia Lennon received custody of Julian.

On August 1, 1970 Cynthia Lennon married the Italian Roberto Bassanini hotelier. The marriage lasted until 1973. 1978 she married John Twist, an engineer from Lancashire, England. In the same year her first autobiography was published entitled " A Twist of Lennon". The divorce of Twist was in 1983, then again took the last name Cynthia Lennon. In September 2005, a further autobiography was published, titled John, Cynthia Lennon in dealing once again with her relationship with John Lennon.

Cynthia Lennon currently lives in Mallorca. Her fourth husband, Noel Charles, whom she met through her son Julian, she married on June 7, 2002.
