Cypress Mountain Ski Area

Cypress Mountain is a ski area in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located above the town of West Vancouver in Cypress Provincial Park in the North Shore Mountains, about thirty minutes away from downtown Vancouver. The winter season lasts from early December to late April. However, due to its coastal location, with sometimes relatively warm sea breezes, the area is not completely continuous snow.

The base station is located at an altitude of 910 meters. The 38 runs and five chair lifts are located on the slopes of the 1454 meter high Mount Strachan and the 1193 meter high Black Mountain. The longest runway is 4.1 km long. In addition, there are trails with a length of 19 kilometers. In summer numerous routes for mountain biking are available.

During the 2010 Winter Olympics Cypress Mountain hosted the competitions in freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
