Cyril Despres

Cyril Despres ( born January 24, 1974 in Fontainebleau, France ) is a French Enduro racers.

Despres took in 2000 on his first Dakar Rally part. His first stage win later succeeded him a year. In 2003 he was runner-up and won the Marathon Rally Cup. In 2005 he won first in the overall standings. After he was defeated in 2006 by his KTM team mate Marc Coma, Despres was able to repeat his success in 2007. In the Central Europe Rally 2008 he finished fifth. During the Dakar Rally 2009, he had at first to contend with tire damage and lost a lot of time so that it only was second at the end of the rally with a clear residue on Coma.

Despres was particularly criticized for rally Dacians, 2012. 6 of the first 7 riders stayed in a mud hole stuck. The Portuguese Paulo Goncalves helped Despres to pull his bike out of the mud, Despres and Goncalves left his gratitude in the mud hole. Only Marc Coma was able to drive around the hole. The organizers then amended the route. Despres lost time was credited. Coma 's lost time was not credited. Goncalves got 6h penalty aufgebrummt because he allegedly get help from locals.

Cyril Despres won also in many other marathon rallies. These include victories in the UAE Desert Challenge, the Rally of Morocco, the Tunisian Rally and the Rally Por Las Pampas. He also won in 2002 and 2003, the Erzberg Rodeo in Austria. In 2007 he was third in the Baja 1000th
