Cyril VI Tanas

Kyrillos VI. Tanas (* 1680 in Damascus, † January 10, 1760 ) was a patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church in the Union movement with the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Kyrillos VI. Tanas, his real name is Seraphim Tanas, was the nephew of the Bishop of St. Euthymius Saifi Tyra and Sidon. He had great sympathy towards the Latin Church, and was elected in Damascus on 20 September 1724 the Patriarch of Antioch.
