The Czar Peter House in Zaandam is one of the oldest surviving building in the Netherlands.

History

It was built in 1632 and was in 1697, when it was home for a time of Tsar Peter I, a certain Gerrit Kist. Kist, a blacksmith, and supported Peter during his training as a shipbuilder during the Great Embassy in the States-General was staying. The house later became the center of attraction also prominent tourist - in the guestbook immortalized, for example, Mikhail Gorbachev.
