D'Lëtzebuerger Land

D' Lëtzebuerger country is in Luxembourg, an independent weekly newspaper for politics, economy and culture, which has been published since January 1, 1954.

The newspaper is supported by the Éditions d' Letzeburger country s.à.rl issued, the 100% owned by the charitable foundation Fondation d' Letzeburger country. The founder of the newspaper Carlo Hemmer (1913-1988) had received his doctorate in economics. He wanted the country as a counterweight in the press landscape of Luxembourg, where every newspaper is white strongly committed to a particular political direction, and reach especially those readers who do not belong to a party, church or trade union. The further history of the newspaper was particularly influenced by Léo Kinsch. He took over the editorship in 1958 and retained the post until his death in 1983.
