D' Urville Iceland (French Île d' Urville ) is the northernmost of the Graham Land upstream Joinville Islands. The island is 27 km long, approximately 455 km ² and reaches a height of 210 meters above the sea. It lies immediately north of Joinville Iceland, both of which are separated by the Larsen - channel. D' Urville Iceland was mapped in 1902 by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition under Otto Nordenskiöld. Nordenskjold named it after Jules Dumont d' Urville, the French explorer who had the Joinville Islands discovered in 1838.
