D. M. Marshman Jr.

Donald M. Marshman Jr. ( born December 21, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American screenwriter who won the Oscar for best original screenplay.

Life

Marshman had been with his debut, the screenplay for sarcastic tragedy Sunset Boulevard (1950 ) by Billy Wilder great success. For this, he received not only with Billy Wilder and Charles Brackett at the Academy Awards 1951 Oscar for best original screenplay, but also the price of the Writers Guild of America (WGA Award ) for the bestgeschriebene Drama and a nomination for the Golden Globe in the category best screenplay.

In addition to the screenplays for the films Taxi ( 1953) by Gregory Ratoff, here in collaboration with Daniel Fuchs, and murderers without a mask (1953 ) by Rudolph Maté, he wrote under the title of Sunset Boulevard and adaptations of the script of Sunset Boulevard for television series.
