The Dálnice 5 is a Czech highway leading from Prague via Pilsen to the German border at Rozvadov ( Roßhaupt ).
The largest Czech-German border crossing at Waidhaus it finds its continuation in secondary over Nuremberg Autobahn 6 ( Via Carolina). These highways are sections of the European Route 50
The D5 since 2006 has been consistently passable from Prague to the German border; on 7 October 2006, the final section between Prague and the German border was opened: a bridge and a tunnel near Pilsen. This Prague was the first direct connection with the German motorway network.
