Dabel

Dabel is a municipality in the northeast of the county Ludwigslust - Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Sternberg Lake District with headquarters in the city Sternberg.

Geography and transport

The community is surrounded by a wooded lake landscape about six kilometers east of Sternberg. Within the area are the Dabeler lake and the Holzdorfer lake. In the southeast of the small injector lake borders the district. North of the village of Dabel is the nature reserve Gägelower lake, located in area to a large extent on the city of Sternberg. In the south and west of the municipality there are larger forest areas, such as in the West Peeschen firs. The highest point is the mountain flute with 64.3 m above sea level. HN. Through the community's Möllerbek flows. Through the village of Dabel lead the federal highway 192 and since 1996 no longer operated passenger railway line Wismar -Karow.

The municipality consists of the villages Dabel and wood village as well as the settlements Woland and Turloff.

History

The name probably comes from the Slavic " Dab or Dabele " meaning oak. Since primeval times, the area was inhabited, as proven numerous megalithic graves and tumuli. 1262 Dabel is the first time mentioned. Until the secularization Dabel belonged to the monastery Dobbertin. Since 1794 until the Second World War Dabel belonged to the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg. After 1945 it belonged only to the state of Mecklenburg and then from 1952 to 1990 for the district of Schwerin.

Dabel was 1979-1990 location of the NVA. After the turn Dabel was until 2006 the Bundeswehr location for the Panzerartilleriebataillon 405

Coat of arms

Designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick coat of arms was approved on 19 June 2002 by the Home Office and registered under No. 264 in the coat of arms role of the state Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

Blazon: "In gold a red dutch windmill on a lowered blue wave bar, accompanied on both sides and at the top of each one upright oak leaf with black handle, because two blue fruit."

Flag

The flag of the community here is striped across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth of gold ( yellow), red and gold ( yellow). The outer golden ( yellow ) strips each take a quarter, the red center stripe takes up half the length of the bunting. In the middle of the bunting is, two thirds of the height of the flag cloth engaging the arms of the municipality. The length of the bunting is related to height as 5:3.

Economy

One of the major employers in the city since 2007, based on the 2006 cleared 58 acre site of the former barracks Moltke Dauerholz AG with about 60 employees.
