Dacia ripensis

The Roman province of Dacia Ripensis ( " Shore Dacia " ) was set up after Emperor Aurelian had abandoned the province of Dacia. Capital of Dacia was Ripensis Ratiaria on the Danube. The province, which consisted of a part of the former province of Moesia Superior, stretching from Cuppae (now Golubac, Serbia) to the river Utus (today Vid river - Bulgarian Вит ) and westward to the western part of the Balkan Mountains. The Vit river flows from the Balkan Mountains coming near the Bulgarian city Somwit ( Bulg Сомовит ) into the Danube.
