Dacorum

Dacorum is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Hertfordshire in England. It includes, among others, the towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of seven smaller local authorities, which are symbolized by seven oak leaves in the coat of arms. It involves:

The name of the district is Latin and means " field of the Danes ." He was first mentioned in 1196 and refers to the southern boundary of the Danelaw, which was formed by the River Lea.
