Dad is an American film drama from the year 1989. Directed by Gary David Goldberg, who also wrote the screenplay from a novel by William Wharton and co-produced the film.

Action

Is working as Manager John Tremont learns that his mother had a heart attack. Furthermore, it turns out that his father Jake is ill with cancer. John returns to the hometown back, dedicated to his father more time and comes closer to him. He also takes his own son Billy closer who wants to drop out of college and live in a community in Mexico. Later, Jake falls into a coma and wakes up after some time. John and the attending physician seek a medical declaration and agree that is the best sounding, Johns love and care brought back his father.

Jake dies some time later. The film ends with the funeral in the family circle.
