Daelim

The Daelim Motor Company, Ltd., is a South Korean motorcycle manufacturer and a subsidiary of Hyosung S & T Motors. The company's headquarters is in Gyeongsangnam -do, and the manufacturing facilities are located in Changwon.

History

Daelim presented the first motorcycles in 1962 under the production of Kia ago. At that time, they produced only a few motorcycles, for the most part only the delivered parts were assembled by the Japanese company Honda. 1978 was only the "right" company Daelim founded and produced thus under his own name. Daelim Daelim Motors belongs to the Company, it has, among other construction companies and centers, hotels, transport companies, Daelim Motors and parts manufacturing for cars and two-wheelers.

The Korean manufacturer ( Daelim Motors) has up to now produced almost exclusively motorcycles and scooters. Recently there is also a quad. There is a wide selection of models, however (apart from the quad and the Roadwin R 250 FI) only with engine capacity sizes up to 125 cm ³:

In the Korean plant situated on an area of ​​298,000 m² in Changwon industrial area, there are conveyor belts on which 300,000 motorcycles can be produced per year. Daelim is the leader of the Korean motorcycle industry. There are annually exported motorcycles with a total value of € 100 million.

In order to open up new lines of business, Daelim took over in March 2000, the company Sunglim Machinery. This company specializes in the manufacture of parts for many two - and four-wheeled vehicles. Sunglim Machinery produces core components, such as carburetors, shock absorbers, chain and brake systems. The sales network spreads all over the world. The importer for Germany 's Hans Leeb Zweiradhandel GmbH in Austria.

Daelim started production in 1962 and represents 300,000 vehicles a year ago, which are exported worldwide today. As before, in the new models Honda engines are installed.

From Otello there are different versions. In 1999, the NS125 was renamed in Otello. Outside Europe also runs under the name S1. The Otello was first built only with rear drum brake. The disc brake was introduced back later. It has also a better carburetor installed to achieve Euro 2. The Freewing also referred to as S2. It is offered with a water-cooled 250 cc engine.
