DAF 55

The DAF 55 was a 1967-1972 model built car manufacturer DAF.

Model history

The 55 went into production in December 1967, from the Geneva Motor Show in 1968 the coupe version, as of autumn 1968, the station wagon. The engine of this model came from the Renault R8. Offered was a single trim level, which was slightly better equipped than the DAF 44 Luxe. The body had Giovanni Michelotti designed.

A total of 164,000 vehicles of this model were produced, of which about 11,000 as a sports coupe DAF 55 Marathon, whose motor with a higher compression brought more power with the same displacement.

The DAF 55 was replaced in 1972 by the successor model DAF 66.
