DAF YP-408

The DAF YP408 is a Dutch, four-axle tank car in which the axes 1, 3 and 4 are driven. The steering is on the first two axes. The vehicle has a six-cylinder diesel engine with six liters of displacement and a five -speed transmission. The first prototype emerged in the late 1950s, the serial production began in 1963, and the use in the Netherlands lasted until the end of the 1980s. The total of about 750 copies were built in the Koninklijke land power in Suriname, used in the military police of the Força Aérea Portuguesa ( Portuguese Air Force ) in the Portuguese army and until today. The successor of the Dutch army is the IFV AIFV.

DAF is not YP408 amphibious vehicle, but can be overcome to a water depth of 1.20 m. An NBC protection is also not available.
