Dag Hartelius

Dag Hartelius ( born November 8, 1955 in Härnösand ) is a Swedish diplomat.

Hartelius was 1986-1987 Swedish Consul at the Swedish Consulate General in St. Petersburg. He then from 1987 to 1989 First Secretary at the Swedish Embassy in Moscow, and from 1989 to 1991 first secretary at the Swedish Embassy in Berlin. From 1991 to 1994 he was Deputy Director of the Department of Central and Eastern Europe at the Foreign Ministry. His next posting Hartelius brought to London, where he was policy at the Swedish Embassy from 1994 to 1997 Counselor of the Department.

Clipboard in 1997 and 1999 Hartelius worked as vice president of European security at the EastWest Institute in New York. He then returned to the Department of Central and Eastern Europe, the Swedish Foreign Ministry to conduct these from 1999 to 2003 as director. In 2003 he was sent as ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Estonia. 2008, he was transferred to Warsaw to represent Sweden in Poland as an ambassador. A post he held until 2010. Since 2011 he has been Permanent Representative of Sweden to the European Union.

Hartelius is married and father of three sons.
